SHARP - the motorcycle helmet safety scheme SHARP is a consumer information scheme funded by the DfT.

SHARP provides advice on how to select a helmet that fits correctly and is comfortable, and information about the relative safety of helmets to help motorcyclists to make an informed choice.

We're headed up to the and are looking forward to meeting lots of lovely bikers from ... well, anywhere north of the Watford Gap! The SHARP team haven't ventured this far north, ever, so it is a genuine first for us.

We are particularly keen to speak to new riders, helmet retailers and CBT motorcycle trainers. Call in to stand H181.

On the stand we'll show you how to check the SHARP star rating for your helmet. How safe is the helmet you are wearing? Is it safe enough? When should you buy a new helmet? and what are the things to look for when choosing a new one? we can answer all these questions and more and show you how to use the SHARP lists to sell more helmets, how to teach your CBT students about helmet safety, and how to convince your mum or your mates that you've picked the right model for your budget.

The SHARP team are headed to Edinburgh this weekend for the The Scottish Motorcycle Show . Drop by our stand H181 to look up the SHARP star rating for your existing helmet or one you are thinking of buying.

We'll be on hand to answer all your questions about helmet safety, what makes a budget helmet as safe as a premium helmet, how to choose the best motorbike helmet for your needs, what the SHARP stars mean, how the motorcycle helmets are tested... and anything else that riders in Scotland want to know about how to get the best head protection.

We have some giveaways too for motorcycle training schools to help with the clothing module of the CBT.
