Cotswold Friends Our vision is that no older or vulnerable person in the Cotswolds is lonely or isolated We can also offer Community Transport in the Cirencester area.

We are a local charity providing friendship, support and transport to older and vulnerable people in the North Cotswold community. We aim to combat loneliness and isolation with our voluntary services, which improve health and wellbeing and support independent living. Cotswold Friends page is for sharing our services and our news with the Cotswold community (please see the map on our website for t

he areas we cover). Could we help you? Our seven services offer Community Transport, Befriending, Carer Support, Independence Support, Hospital Support, Community Activities and Intergenerational Projects. If you would like to know more, or think we might be able to help you or someone you know, please do get in touch. Could you volunteer? We always need more volunteers so if you are looking for a volunteering role to support your local Community we would be delighted to talk to you. Your commitment can be as little as an hour a week, or more if you have the time. We would like to thank all of our funders and sponsors and everyone who fundraises for the organisation, making it possible for Cotswold Friends to deliver services to the North Cotswold and Cirencester communities that support over 2,000 older and vulnerable people.

🪵 A huge thank you to Auto-Sleepers Ltd for their generous donation of wood to our Men-in-Sheds!

Donations like this help keep our sheds well stocked, giving our shedders the materials they need to continue creating, building and supporting community projects.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support—it will be put to very good use! 💚

Our ambassadors at Age Friendly Cotswolds have been out and about in Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold, visiting local shops and establishments to encourage more businesses to become Age Friendly and Dementia Friendly.

By making small, thoughtful changes, local businesses can help older people and those living with dementia feel more welcome, understood and confident within their community.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with our ambassadors and learn more.

💚 A week with Cotswold Friends

We recently welcomed a work experience student, who spent the week learning about the many ways we help people remain independent, connected and part of their community.

From seeing how our Community Transport service provides much more than a lift, to joining a befriending visit and sharing laughter at one of our Friendship Cafés, she experienced first-hand the difference that kindness, companionship and practical support can make.

The week also gave her a new perspective on the many rewarding ways a career can help others, while developing skills in listening, communication and empathy.

A huge thank you to our work experience student for bringing such enthusiasm, compassion and an open mind to her week with us!

🔨 Northleach Men-in-Sheds urgently needs Shed Leaders!

Could you help keep this valued local group running?

We’re looking for friendly, dependable volunteers to help lead sessions, welcome members and create a relaxed space where people can work on projects, share skills and enjoy good company.

You don’t need to be a master craftsman—being organised, approachable and willing to get involved is what matters most. Your support could help local men stay active, build friendships and feel more connected to their community.

🦋 Death Café Cancelled

Sadly, due to a low number of responses, our upcoming Death Café has been cancelled. We’re sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause.

Talking about death, dying and bereavement can be difficult. Anyone who would like support or someone to speak to about these subjects is warmly encouraged to reach out to the Cotswold Friends team.

Thank you for your understanding. 💜

🍽️ A fantastic start for our new Sunday Lunch Club!

We were delighted to welcome 15 happy clients to the launch of our first Sunday Lunch Club this weekend.

Together, we enjoyed a lovely roast dinner, plenty of friendly conversation and a huge pudding to finish! Despite the warm weather, the atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming and full of smiles.

A special thank you to our brilliant Lead Volunteer, Andree, who kept everything running smoothly and made sure everyone felt at home.

We’re so pleased with the turnout and hope to welcome even more people as word spreads. 💜

🔥🧯 Getting fired up about safety!

Some of our team recently completed their Fire Marshal training, receiving a thorough introduction to fire prevention, emergency procedures and how to respond safely if an incident occurs.

Of course, no fire safety session would be complete without getting hands-on with the fire extinguishers — and having a little fun along the way!

Well done to everyone who took part and helped make Cotswold Friends an even safer place for our staff, volunteers and clients. 👏

☀️🍰 Summer celebrations at Cotswold Friends!

We had a wonderful time at our Client Summer Party last week, enjoying a delicious afternoon tea, a brilliant raffle and plenty of friendly conversation.

The Blockley Ladies Choir made the afternoon even more special with a fantastic performance that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

A huge thank you to the choir, our volunteers and everyone who helped make it such a memorable day for our clients. 💜
