Our Little Cat Rescue Story (includes graphic pictures)

Meet Shadow, our recently rescued four-legged visitor who has become something of a celebrity at the Guild!

Shadow was first spotted poking his head around the office door, sniffing for food. It soon became clear that he needed some help, and what followed was a wonderful community effort. Sadly his tail had become 'degloved' and was looking quite nasty

Neighbours and local businesses along the service alley all joined together to look out for Shadow and help coax him into a cage. We contacted the brilliant cat rescue charity The Stray Cat Club, who immediately came to our aid, delivering a cage, food and a blanket so we could safely capture him and get him the medical attention he needed.

After six long days of attempts, our very own resident cat whisperer, Anjela, finally managed to coax the little fella into the office!

Shadow is now safely under the care of the amazing Stray Cat Club team. Sadly, he needed to have his tail amputated, but he has been receiving pain medication and plenty of rest while he heals.

We’re delighted to say that Shadow is the most loving and calm little cat we’ve come across in a long time — once he was finally captured, that is!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the search and, of course, a special well done to Anjela for her determination and patience in finally getting Shadow to safety.

We’re all rooting for you, Shadow!

Many Happy Returns!!

Andrew and Brenda have both been celebrating their birthdays last weekend, which gave us the perfect excuse to devour lashings of cake at our coffee mornings!

The cakes were, of course, topped with the now-traditional stick of high explosives — because apparently birthday candles just aren’t quite exciting enough!

A big thank you to Andrew too for bringing in copious amounts of crisps and Custard Creams for everyone to enjoy.

Happy Birthday, Andrew and Brenda! We hope you both had a wonderful time celebrating with us.

Coffee Mornings – Wednesdays & Fridays, 10:30am–12:30pm

Our coffee mornings are informal, friendly events where you can come along, find out what’s happening at the Guild, enjoy a cuppa and some refreshments, and have a good chat with our welcoming regulars.

We’ve recently welcomed around 6 new people, which we’re so happy about! It’s lovely to see new faces becoming part of our Guild community.

There’s even talk of a few people getting together to start a dominoes game, so who knows what new friendships and activities might come from our coffee mornings!

Why not come along, meet some new people and see what the Guild is all about? Everyone is welcome.
