Planning a visit on 11 May? 👇

There will be roadworks on Ashley Road meaning access to Rostherne Gate will be limited. Don't worry, pedestrian and vehicle access will still be available via Knutsford Gate.

Please allow a little extra time for your journey and follow local signage. Thanks for your patience!

Good news - the issue with UU and the tankers in the village is now resolved. No more tankers with immediate effect

Have a great weekend all

UU update ⬇️

Good Morning Councillor Moss,

Mobberley WWTW suffered a toxic shock on 30th April causing the biological treatment process on site to fail.

This meant that the site would be non-compliant with our permit and cause a detriment to the receiving watercourse. In order to avoid this we had to tanker the effluent to another site to allow it to be treated before discharging to the environment

In order to return Mobberley to normal operation a thorough site cleanse was required to remove the toxic/inhibitory substance. This cleansing was completed by the 4th of May and we are now closely monitoring the biological process and providing optimal conditions for its recovery.

We are testing daily and the moment the biology has recovered to a satisfactory level we will cease any tankering immediately and re-commence discharge to the environment.

We continue to explore all options to minimise disruption to the residents and would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the disruption to the neighbours and reassure you that any damage caused by our operations will be put back to original condition as soon as the Incident is complete.

We will also assess the boundary of the customers we have been communicating with based on your feedback.

We have contacted all customers with open complaints to offer a visit this afternoon, at this point I know that 3 customers have said they would like to speak to us. I will keep you updated.

Kind regards

After lots of emails to the Highways Team, I’m pleased to see Town Lane Service Road is finally getting some much needed attention. The hand laid patching will make a huge difference.
Looking forward to seeing the work complete in coming days

Latest from UU on the tankers heading to the water works on Oldfield Drive ⬇️

Good afternoon Councillor Moss,

I am sure you are aware that we are still tankering from our Mobberley site and need to continue this activity at this time. We are very conscious that this is having an impact on some residents and all active customer complaints are being dealt with by our complaints team. We will be doing a letter drop to all residents in Oldfield Drive and Carlisle Close tomorrow to update them and I will share a copy of this with you.

Unfortunately, I am unable to give you an end date for the tankering but please be assured that as soon as we know that I will update you. I am sorry that I do not have better news at this point.

Another application from this weeks Strategic Planning Board meeting

I had no choice but to call Officers out for their “advice” on this application. It certainly didn’t feel like advice and I made my feelings on this clear in the debate. I wasn’t being pressured into following their advice to approve this application when I wasn’t comfortable with it.

A Nantwich housing application has been deferred for a second time for a traffic assessment – with a parish councillor warning ‘until there’s…
