π A little reminder about parking around Maybole Fire Station
We completely understand that finding a parking space in a busy street isn't always easy and we know that nobody sets out to cause problems for the emergency services.
However, last night our crew were called to an incident and vehicles parked poorly at both ends of the street restricted access for the appliance getting out of the station. This unfortunately caused a delay while the crew worked to get the appliance safely mobilised.
Even if there appears to be enough room for a car to squeeze through, a large emergency appliance may not be able to pass β and every second can matter when we're responding to a 999 call.
So, if you're parking near the station or on a narrow street, please take an extra moment to consider:
π Could a fire engine get through here?
π Is there enough room for it to manoeuvre?
π Would parking on the opposite side leave sufficient clear space?
This isn't about blaming anyone β it's simply a request to a community we know supports us and the work we do.
