The Parrett IDB has been installing water level monitoring equipment in the Kings Sedgemoor SSSI this week. This will help us protect the special wetland environment of the area by providing a continuous record of water levels across the site. The information will be used to improve the management of water levels and water flows. The equipment has been funded by a Defra grant for lowland peat restoration.

The North Somerset Levels IDB has been installing 25 telemetry water level monitoring devices this week accross the Drainage Board area. We are using the latest radar technology from Previsico, who also undertook the installations. Funding for the devices was provided by Defra to help the IDB manage water levels in peatland areas. The project was managed and delivered by our Ecologist Phil Brewin.
