Brilliant first formal event for us at the Market Drayton Conservatives.

A huge turnout from members both in Market Drayton and further afield!

Huge thank you to Jeremy Lefroy for being our guest speaker tonight providing some brilliant insight into both national and local politics and how we as a party should work to win back voters!

The event wouldn’t have been possible without the work from our Chairman Shauney Connor and Secretary Rupert Adcock!

A huge amount of thanks go to Mario, Gary and Simon White and all at Bella Italia MD for their service and hospitality.

We look forward to hosting another event soon!

Cllr Rupert Adcock - Market Drayton Town Councillor and Shauney Connor - Market Drayton East and Rural Division Representative had a thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch at Albright Hussey supporting the wider North Shropshire Conservative Association Wem Branch in their event.

What a time they had. The guest speaker was the Rt Hon Wendy Morton MP - MP for Aldridge Brownhills. Her speech was full of optimism and strong sense of feeling that the Conservative Party, Kemi Badenochs Conservative Party, is going from strength to strength and heading in the right direction.

They’d like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Liz and Peter Broomhall of the Wem Branch for arranging the event and thank the staff for the wonderful food and service.

Sharing a post from neighbouring Cheshire Police.

Rural crime is not old, not new. It has been happening for a very long time.

Given Woore, Norton-in-Hales and some of Market Drayton East are rural, please stay vigilant.

Ensure all your doors, outbuildings are securely locked, and double check before you sit down for dinner/tea and before you go to bed.

If you’re on a farm, ensure that all your devices whether they be motion sensors or others are fully functioning and make sure an inventory is done in any outhouses.

Our very own Shauney Connor - Market Drayton East and Rural Division Representative was fortunate enough to be interviewed by BBC Shropshire in relation to his campaign for a bus service in Woore. He was also interviewed for Politics Midlands on Sunday - which you can catch up on BBC iPlayer.

Shauney Connor says his village has not seen a public bus for more than a decade.

Keir Starmer has now completed his 13th U-turn as Prime Minister, scrapping plans for a mandatory digital ID scheme. This reversal came not just because of Conservative pressure, but because a clear majority of the country opposed it.

That matters. Mandatory digital ID has no place in a free society without an explicit democratic mandate, and the public never gave one. This decision is a win for democracy, and a reminder that even in opposition it is possible to bring real pressure to bear when the government strays beyond what voters have consented to.

As per my earlier post last night, below is the email which I have sent to Cllr Tom Dainty (Market Drayton East and Rural) in relation to a wish to work cross party to come up with some practical, beneficial and feasible ideas to ensure our communities of Woore and Norton-in-Hales can stay connected to Market Drayton without being left behind.

It will also mean that those who live in Market Drayton can support not just the Market Drayton pubs but also The Falcon Inn, Woore , and The Hinds Head in Norton-in-Hales, especially if they don’t drive.

If any of you have any ideas as to how we can ensure we are better connected to Market Drayton and our county towns, or anything that I can do to help, then do not hesitate to get in touch with me on the email in my page, or via Facebook Messenger.
