Advocate Leadership!

Today I spoke with Peter Ndoro on the Channel Africa podcast, where we discussed Africa Border Day, a day established by the African Union to reflect on regional integration, cross-border cooperation, and the need to dismantle colonial-era barriers that have long divided the continent.

In this interview, we discussed the future of African regional integration, the importance of stronger and more functional African states, people-to-people relations, intra-African trade, and shared prosperity across the continent. It was a powerful reminder of why cooperation, unity, and development remain so important for Africa’s future. Leadership matters a lot! When you have a knowledgeable, unafraid leader at the helm of you country’s economy, the country changes.I long for such leadership for Malawi.

There was very strong political posturing for Kamuzu Day Commemorations.Someone did not know either to read the room,or they did not know their place. All I have read into the whole thing is power in your own political party is different from power in government.
Losing power means accepting to step back from national events and appear only by invitation.
Respect is earned.Someone is living a pretentious life and they need to stop so that they can live a respectable life.As Bakili Muluzi said a few months ago “There is life after State House”.

Malawi Congress Party is in opposition and they need to bring their business forward and not wait for 2029 for convention to endorse a candidate. They need to go through the primary election to get the right candidate for 2030.They need to work ahead of DPP who will be changing candidate for 2030 anyway.

Kamuzu Day as observed by Dr Nkhalamba.

Kamuzu Day 2026. Recalling the purpose of our Independence.

Today, as many Malawians continue to suffer in poverty, Kamuzu Day must remind each one of us that we have a responsibility to do all we can to achieve the purpose of our independence - better material conditions in the life of every Malawian. Most importantly, anyone who claim leadership must be challenged to show that they are capable of and working to achieve the purpose of our independence.

Do it yourself mentality. The big banks pick and choose what projects to fund.People who know History know how things are /were done.
