🔥 Hot off the press: the RAF Red Arrows will return to Lyme Regis this summer!🔥

The Red Arrows are officially returning to Lyme Regis this August for their first display over the town in nine years.

They’ll be opening Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week on Saturday 15 August, helping mark 200 years of a lifeboat in the town.

✨ Expect an unforgettable aerobatic display celebrating decades of historic links between the Red Arrows and the RNLI Lyme Regis
👀 Exact display time coming soon, but make sure you head to the seafront early for a great view!
🎉 Thousands are expected, so be sure to book your accommodation now.

To help support the display, the Lyme Regis Red Arrows 100 Club is being relaunched, offering members exclusive merchandise and a VIP champagne reception.

The annual reprofiling of sandy Front Beach in Lyme Regis will start today. We are erecting a safety fence for the protection of the public.

We're starting early this year because the late winter storms have denuded the beach and we are hoping that the worst weather is now behind us and that we can finish the works before the tourist season begins in earnest at Easter.

The beach work is independent of the harbour dredging and is planned to coincide with the equinox spring tides. The actual earthmoving work will start on Wednesday and should be completed by 23 March. Some reprofiling of the shingle beaches may also be done afterwards.

To avoid any danger to members of the public, during the beach work phase, we'll be closing off the beach front with Heras fencing. This will be removed by 25 March.

Today’s swim at West Bay is cancelled

SWIM CANCELLED!

We have made the difficult decision to cancel the Boxing Day swim at West Bay today, in light of other local sea swim events yesterday and the tragic events which unfolded. Out of respect for the swimmers lost and the emergency services who responded.

Although the conditions are better today, given the circumstances it still does not feel right and the safety of all people taking part and spectating at the event is paramount.

The weather is nice albeit cold, the food & coffee kiosks are open, so please feel free to enjoy at day at West Bay. BUT please do not enter the sea. The next local sea swim event is at Lyme Regis on New Year’s Day.
