Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner has no clue!

Leicestershire residents deserve more police officers on our streets, not £2 million spent on plastic, powerless private security contracts.

Join this petition calling Rupert Matthews, to reconsider plans to divert key police funding towards security staff instead of investing directly into frontline policing.

Private security staff do not have the same powers as fully trained police officers. They cannot investigate crimes, detain suspects, or provide the level of protection and reassurance our communities expect.

That £2 million should go towards recruiting and training more police officers, increasing visible policing, improving response times, and helping keep our communities safe.

Shameful. All Labour do it, take, take, take. Nationally and locally all the same.

🚨 Broken Promises on Brown Bin Charges 🚨
In their 2023–2027 manifesto, Charnwood Labour promised to freeze brown bin collection costs.

📉 Reality? They’ve increased charges every single year:

£55 → £60 → £65 (If on Direct Debit)
£60 → £65 → £70 (Other payment methods)

That’s not a freeze — it’s a steady rise.

And with support from their Green Party colleagues, residents are left paying more whilst being told it’s about the environment.

🌱 If this is “green,” why does it cost residents more each year?
Residents deserve honesty and accountability — not broken promises.

I remember very clearly receiving not one, but two leaflets during the last local elections from Reform councillors in Loughborough, both promising cuts to council tax. When we called it out at the time, we were told we didn’t know what we were talking about.

Fast forward to now, those same bills have hit people’s doormats, and instead of cuts, residents are being hit with increases. Signed off by the very leadership that made those promises.

So let’s be clear: the only people who didn’t understand what they were talking about were the ones making those pledges in the first place. Promising tax cuts and delivering rises isn’t just a mistake, it’s misleading the public.

And as time goes on, that gap between what was promised and what’s actually delivered is becoming impossible to ignore.

Anyone seen there Reform Councillor recently anywhere other than chronically online?

You can’t trust Reform.

🚨Hypocrisy alert from Reform UK!

🪸They call it “Net Stupid Zero” and vow to scrap it to cut bills.

💷Yet they're splashing out nearly £50k on a Senior Climate Resilience Officer role.

🤷‍♂️If you don't believe in the climate agenda, why fund a big salary for something you say shouldn't exist?

🤷‍♂️Are Reform actually running the council... or just letting officers do whatever they want with taxpayers' money?
