MORE HMOs: Stephen Atkinson fights to protect Ribble Valley communities.

Since July 2025 Cllr Stephen Atkinson (Reform UK Leader LCC) has been fighting to highlight the pressures HMOs (Houses of Multiple Occupation) create in communities throughout the Ribble Valley and therefore stop asylum seekers being housed without proper control.

Stephen invited Labour MPs Maya Ellis and Jonathan Hinder to attend the Ribble Valley Borough Council (planning) meeting so they could defend Labour Prime Minister Andy Burnham's policy of more Asylum Seekers in more affluent areas - they did not reply or attend.

Also, no Labour councillors from Ribble Valley attended the meeting namely Michael Graveston and Kieran Spencer (who sit on the planning committee).

The meeting ended and Ribble Valley Borough Council Planning have adopted a Article 4 Direction requiring HMOs, for 3 to 6 people, to require planning permission as is already required for HMOs with more than 6 residents.

LOCAL COMMUNITIES: Reform UK want better control of Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMOs).

Cllr Stephen Atkinson (Leader LCC) today explains how Reform UK want Article 4 Direction to replace Permitted Development Rights throughout Lancashire.

There are currently 11 "HMOs" in the Ribble Valley. Reform UK believe it is in the best interest of local communities that HMO's licenses be issued under stricter Article 4 Direction.

Stephen will be attending the next Ribble Valley Borough Council planning committee meeting on Thursday August 27th (6.30pm) and encourages local residents to attend.

BINFACE REVEALED: The true face of the Westminster Uniparties.

Nigel Farage has been successfully re-elected as the MP for Clacton with 22,239 votes - a larger vote share than when he was elected in 2024 .

But where were the Labour, Conservative and Lib Dem candidates? The "Westminster Uniparties" were out canvassing for Count Binface in the Clacton by-election.

So who really is behind the BINFACE mask?

RACE IS ON: Lloyds Women's Tour of Britain set to thrill Lancashire fans.

Stage 2: Clitheroe - Blackpool

On Thursday 20th August, starting 11am, riders begin in Clitheroe. Riders then tackle Waddington Fell and the iconic Nick o' Pendle before descending towards the Fylde Coast through Whalley, Longridge and Lytham St Annes. The stage concludes with what promises to be a thrilling sprint finish beside Blackpool's famous Mirror Ball.

Cllr Stephen Atkinson (leader LCC), a keen cyclist himself, said "We are incredibly proud to be hosting Lancashire Stage 2 which promises to be an occasion not to be missed for Lancashire’s cycling fans."

The Lloyds Tour of Britain has attracted a world-class field with some of the best female endurance riders primed to compete. Nine of the world's top 10 ranked teams and 13 World Tour squads will battle it out against each other during the five-stage race.

The race is expected to bring a welcome boost to the local economy and businesses along the route.

NO! Raynor refuses to give back £16,876 severance pay.

Housing Secretary Angela Rayner told BBC Matt Chorley that she will NOT repay the £16,876 she received in severance pay (British taxpayers money) when she quit the government in September 2025 after underpaying tax on her £800,000 Hove flat.

This contradicts previous accusations she made against opposition Cabinet Ministers who received severance pay saying "people up and down the country are struggling to pay their mortgages and put food on the table, it shows a staggering lack if shame for them to accept this money".

Is this another example of Labour double standards? Please share your thoughts and COMMENT.

LOCAL FURY: Will Burnley become the most deprived authority in the country?

backed Blackburn merger in November 2024.

The Office of Oliver Ryan (Labour MP for Burnley) originally proposed both the four model adopted in East Lancashire and a three council proposal in November 2024 but now realise the new East Lancs merger with Blackburn leaves Burnley one of the most deprived local authorities in the country - and Burnley constituents will be ruled by people in Blackburn.

Oliver Ryan said: “I am so angry with these proposals, this new East Lancs authority with Blackburn, but without the Ribble Valley, by our own statistics will have created the most deprived local authority in the country, with an awful lot of debt already on its books.”

This is another example of Labour undemocratic policy which will affect East Lancashire residents for years to come.

W*NKA ... Woman receives ‘instant karma’ after crashing car whilst swearing at Farage.

A woman shouted an expletive at Reform UK leader Nigel Farage during his visit to Clacton.

Seconds after the verbal abuse, the woman crashed her car into the rear of a BMW. The incident occurred because she failed to notice red lights ahead.

Mr Farage, who witnessed the crash, described it as a dose of "instant karma". He was heard commenting to an aide that "She won’t be doing that again in a hurry."

BREAKING NEWS: Labour will scrap Lancashire County Council and all local councils.

The Labour Government confirmed its preferred option for Local Government Reorganisation. Subject to Parliamentary approval all 15 existing councils will be scrapped. That includes Lancashire County Council and every district and borough council.

Since 2020 Stephen Atkinson has campaigned against these mergers stating "Ribble Valley will only have 12 out of 72 councillors in the new Lancashire North authority making it more difficult to protect frontline services and cut waste in the Ribble Valley."

RIBBLE VALLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL WILL BE SCRAPPED RESULTING IN NUMEROUS JOB LOSSES.
***************************************

All Lancashire councils will be replaced by four new unitary councils:

🔵 NORTH: Lancaster, Preston, Ribble Valley
🔵 WEST: Fylde, Wyre, Blackpool
🔵 EAST: Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn, Rossendale, Pendle, Burnley
🔵 SOUTH: Chorley, South Ribble, West Lancashire

What happens next:

✅ No immediate changes. Services continue as normal.
✅ Shadow elections for new councils expected May 2027.
✅ New councils go live April 2028.
✅ Town and parish councils are NOT affected.

Reform UK do not want this. It was not in Labour's 2024 Manifesto. This is Labour's top down reorganisation, imposed on Lancashire from Westminster.

NO MORE GAMES: Nigel Farage says "the other parties are running scared."

Labour and Conservative are losing the battle against the rise of Reform UK - that's hard working voters like you who have had enough after 16 years of failed promises.

The political establishment are intent on destroying the reputation and funding of Reform UK by any means possible. In a bold response Nigel Farage resigned as an MP giving Clacton voters the opportunity to send a clear message to Westminster.

If you believe in change and have the opportunity to vote in either the Clacton by-election, the Manchester Mayoral election or any future election vote Reform UK.

As Matt Goodwin says, "it's that simple".
