A big thank you to Jessie who helped with putting up the bat boxes this morning. We how have five star accommodation for our batty friends, going cheap, with splendid views, rural location and no deposit required...!

Also scoped out a few trees for the bat boxes the Forestry Commission paid for. Still need to speak with Tom about the locations. But if he's happy then we'll look to put these up in Nov. Will confirm date later but will definitely need helpers. Chocolate will be provided :)

Eating my hat today. Didn't think we would find much but Oct has turned out to be one of the best months this year for the dormouse survey. 3 dm in the boxes and another 2 unoccupied nests. Great stuff. Maybe we should try a Nov survey visit after all. Hornets still in box 58 :(

Hi guys. Sorry I haven't posted anything on the page until now. Been extremely busy the past month or so and haven't had the chance to visit Aston Hill Woods. So am planning on visiting the dormouse boxes this Sunday (27th) weather permitting if anyone would like to come along. I'll be driving back from Buckinghamshire that day so it will be a evening survey. Meet at the main park at 6pm. Should be finished at 8pm (ish). Please let me know if you plan on attending.

Other news- we managed to source funding for 6 bat boxes from the FC :) Will be hopefully getting these soon and will need help deploying them. Date to be confirmed.

All intrepid lumberjacks. The weather is not looking great tomorrow but we are going to give it a go as planned. Duncan will bring a tarp for shelter if needed. Please remember to bring warm clothing, lunch and water proofs. I will bring the donuts!!!!

Hi guys. Just a gentle reminder that the coppicing volunteer day is this Saturday (10 till 3). I will be keeping a eye on the weather forecast in the next couple of days. At the moment light rain is forecast (but we all know that can change). Please check this page regularly for updates. If the weather is too bad then we will unfortunately have to cancel :(
