Last week, Brent Council concluded the prosecution of an unlicensed BBQ seller, who despite warnings continued to operate a stall selling food after events at Wembley.

Not only was he trading without a licence, but he also irresponsibly disposed of his hot charcoal down a drain, creating a fire and environmental hazard. ⚠️

Transport for London has launched a consultation on the proposed West London Orbital, a new London Overground route that could transform journeys for Brent residents.

The plans include new stations at Harlesden and Neasden, with direct services to Brent Cross West, Old Oak Common and West London's Golden Mile.

Journey times could be cut dramatically. For example, travelling from Harlesden to Brent Cross West could fall from 39 minutes to 13 minutes, while journeys from Neasden to Old Oak Common could reduce from 44 minutes to just 11 minutes.

The scheme could also support new homes, new jobs, cleaner air and better access to education and employment opportunities.

Every child deserves someone in their corner! ⚽

Wembley Football Club 🦁 backs fostering in Brent ❤️

A local foster carer has joined forces with Wembley FC to help raise awareness of the need for more foster carers in the borough.

Jo, whose son is involved with the club, shared her experience of fostering and encouraged others to find out more about giving a child a safe and supportive home.

Jo said: “Fostering is about helping a child feel cared for, supported and part of a family. It’s incredibly rewarding, and you can genuinely change a child’s life for the better.”

Could you make a difference to a local child’s life? Brent is looking for more foster carers to provide safe, supportive homes for children and young people in the borough.

Have your say on the future of fireworks in the UK 🎆

As we prepare for Bonfire Night and Diwali, we're encouraging residents to celebrate safely and responsibly and have their say on the future regulation of fireworks and pyrotechnics.

We know fireworks are an important part of many celebrations across Brent. We also hear residents' concerns about noise, safety, antisocial behaviour and the impact fireworks can have on vulnerable people, pets and wildlife.

The Government is seeking views on proposals to:

✅ Restrict the sale of louder fireworks to professional users only
✅ Ban additional pyrotechnic products considered to pose unacceptable risks
✅ Review how fireworks and pyrotechnic products are classified to better reflect the risks they pose
