Wine tasting fundraiser coming up in October at The Platform Cafe

🍂🍷 Friends Of Loughborough Park are holding a winetasting fundraiser for the Loughborough Meadow rewilding project on 23 October at 7pm, here at The Platform Cafe.

The evening will feature five wines selected and presented by a WSET Level 3 sommelier. All proceeds will go towards the Loughborough Meadow rewilding project 🌱

We’ll be coordinating here in Loughborough Junction before heading to Windrush Square to join everyone from across the area.

Come along to The Platform Cafe at midday for some free tea and cake, and we’ll get you kitted out with everything you need for the litter pick.

On Sunday we hosted a screening of People’s Emergency Briefing at The Platform Cafe 🎬

The National Emergency Briefing film looks at the climate and ecological emergency, bringing together different voices to explore the challenges we’re facing and what we can do about them.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and got involved in the discussion afterwards - it was great to hear everyone’s thoughts and have such a good conversation 💬

We’d love to screen the film again, so let us know if you’d be interested in coming along or helping to organise another screening.

☀️ What a summer at Grove Adventure Playground!

Over 70 children a day took part in our free Summer Play Centre, enjoying games, creative activities, skill development and, most importantly, plenty of time to play, make friends and have fun.

Alongside our daily sessions, the children enjoyed trips including climbing, skating, cycling, a boat trip along the Thames and, of course, our annual beach day at Camber Sands 🌊

We’re proud to provide free opportunities for local children and young people to build confidence, develop new skills and create happy summer memories.

A huge thank you to our brilliant Grove team, our funders and everyone who supported our beach trip 💚
