Enfield Council is supporting national Baby Loss Awareness Week that takes place from 9 to 15 October.

The week is for bereaved parents and their families to remember their babies who have died too soon.

Cllr Chris Dey, Cabinet Member for Children's Services at Enfield Council, has issued a statement. He said: “We whole-heartedly support the week and give our thanks to the baby loss charities involved who support anyone affected by the death of a baby.

“It doesn’t just affect mothers, but also fathers, grandparents, brothers and sisters, friends, wider families and colleagues, and can have a devastating impact on people’s lives."

Our homelessness officers work closely with local partners to change the lives of vulnerable residents. One resident was sleeping on the streets for several years. They were wary and wouldn’t readily engage with Council officers.

However, with persistent professional care, our Street Homeless team successfully supported the resident to secure a safe and permanent home.

Using a trauma-informed approach, the team worked with health and housing partners to give the resident practical ongoing support.

Alongside helping residents who are already homeless, we have a multi-strand homelessness prevention project.

Our dedicated teams and our free online advice are the core of our homelessness prevention work. We also do workshops with local partners and charity groups; direct advice and emails to residents; and social media for wider reach.

This Saturday 10 October is World Homeless Day. You can help others by sharing our link (below) and encouraging them to get help before they become homeless.
