Next week is Anti-social Behaviour Awareness Week from 3 - 9 July

More than one in ten people say ASB has negatively impacted their mental health.

This year National ASB Awareness Week is focussing on 'know your rights'. Do you know your rights if you are a victim of ASB?

If you are experiencing ASB on your estate, please report this to your estate team in the first instance. For any urgent matters or crimes currently taking place, report to the police.

The City Corporation’s Housing Service ASB Policy can be found here:

A nationwide emergency alert will set people's phones off for 10 seconds at 3pm on Sunday 23 April.

Domestic violence charities are concerned the alert could give away secret phones people experiencing abuse are keeping hidden.

Women's Aid and Refuge have issued advice about how to turn the alerts off:

Switch off to be safe - switch off the device entirely or put it in aeroplane mode before 3pm on Sunday 23 April

It is not enough to switch your phone to silent mode as the emergency alert will override this.

On iPhones and Android phones and tablets, people can search settings for "emergency alerts" and turn off "severe alerts" and "emergency alerts".

On Huawei devices running EMUI 11 or older, search settings for "emergency alerts" and turn off "extreme threats", "severe threats", and "show amber alerts".

The loud noise of the emergency alert could reveal a domestic violence victim's phone to their abuser, with charities saying the test could put people at risk. Here's how to turn off the alert.

The UK Government is activating a UK-wide alerts test on Sunday 23 April which will see people receive a welcome message on their mobile phones. You do not need to do anything when you receive the message – this is just a test. The service is more effective if it is tested before use.
