A stronger, independent Europe is now emerging.

A Europe better able to defend itself than ever before.

With a new European Security Council, including the UK, Canada, Norway and Ukraine.

A Europe with a strong and dynamic economy.

A Europe that harnesses the potential of AI, while making it safer and more secure.

And a Europe that confidently protects the rights of its citizens. Especially its children.

With a European Kids Act bringing concrete safeguards for minors online, starting as early as tomorrow.

Today, during her State of the Union speech at the European Parliament, President Ursula von der Leyen presented her vision for a stronger and more independent Europe that stands up for its values in this world and works closely with its partners.

EU Ambassador Jukka Salovaara welcomed UK Ambassador to the EU Caroline Wilson to Europe House, as both begin their new roles.

Two Ambassadors, one shared priority: strengthening the EU-UK partnership for the benefit of citizens on both sides.

A positive start, and plenty of 🇪🇺🇬🇧 cooperation ahead!
