With the recent turmoil witnessed in the global financial markets and the world economy, due to external forces like the pandemic or the war in Ukraine, or from internal factors such as institutional rigidness, incompetence of those responsible, lack of prioritization and distribution of resources and funds and a poorly executed plan or agenda for the improvement of our societies security, wellbeing and welfare, an opening for an enhanced model to set our affairs in order has indeed arised. At Political Foundations, we seek to cook and stir up innovative or novel ideas that may be considered for implementation in the proper time and setting, to witness the changes we are quite vocal about. Octagonomy is one of the models that I wish to share with you, to learn more about how such ideas, whether a fraction of it or in their entirety, may be deemed wise for ex*****on.

We are living through an economic catastrophe that is testing people’s resilience, rational and will to survive the unexpected. From the 2008 Financial Recession, to the unexpected disruption for almost three years by the pandemic, to wars that have shattered our understanding of stability, such a...

Khalid El-Kaissi tackles the issue concerning the war in Ukraine, by Russian Agression, and the question of what determines a sovereign state, and how such a war may upend the very core of the current world order. A must read to those concerned about the potential outcomes of such a devastating conflict that may lead to serious reprecussions on the stability of our global political, economic and social systems.

The recent crises brewing between the US and Russia at the expense of Ukrainian authority, legitimacy and sovereignty, has become a rather heated debate on how to define one's sovereignty and who decides upon such a rather sensitive subject. Ukraine and Russia have always had a historical bond, in w...

A fresh take on the current geopolitical crises unfolding in Eastern Europe.

We present several different perceptions and understandings on the likelihood of all-out-war by Russia in Ukraine and the potential reprecussions it may lead. More importantly, the video reveals what can be done by Ukraine to contain the situation and avert a fatal fate that could lead to endless bloodshed, destruction and casualties.

When assessing the various political scenarios and outcomes that could emerge from such a pivotal moment in the present time, one has to take under consideration the following questions: why is their tension between the two sides? who stands to benefit from such a war? who is the cause for such a crises? how would the world order change after such event? what political ramifications will we experience from such daunting moment in history.

This war is more political than physical. It's true beneficiaries are those that find it in their best interest to teach certain groups, whom are initially perceived of as allies or friends and whom have become unsettling and jittery, a lesson on another individual's lawn. And the price that would be paid, if war breaks out or not, will lead to further division on the political stage, more dependence on key political players and further escalation in tensions that would have eventually one final outcome; all out War!

To learn more about the many changes and trends impacting the Millennial generation, especially after Covid-19 has managed to destabilize many of our standards, norms and traditions leading to an "ideation vacuum", read what our founder, Khalid, had to say in his new post.

To remain resorting to past thinkers, whom lived centuries ago, is a worrying sign of the present state of human kind. For, what of the intellectuals of today? What have they brought forth that is worth our attention? If the answer is "not much", then we are passing into default quicker than anticip...

Another new intriguing post by our esteemed member, Mohamed, who is enlightening us on his thoughts regarding the potential reprecussions that could be caused from a renewed interest in the US striking a deal with Iran over their nuclear capacities. Worth the read!

I am apprehensive of the new man in Tehran. Ebrahim Raisi is a hard-line cleric now in charge of the executive branch of an extremist theocratic entity. He has played a role in the ex*****on of about 5,000 opponents of the Iranian regime in the 1980s, and the lethal crackdowns on anti-government pro...

In politics, power conflicts are games of diversion. It is never the act of doing something that matters. Rather it is the act of terrorizing to keep the surrounding environment on edge wondering about what is to come that deploys the most crafty political acts.

While many have begun questioning the role or significance of governments, as vital institutions for holding up our societies, here we explore the ways in which governments that are constructed properly and for the right purposes may be pivotal institutions that are the main ingredient in uplifting or demolishing nations.

Laws, standards, traditions and norms make humans tense. We prescribe to ourselves methods on how to be regulated at the hands of others, whom we believe to be trustworthy with the protection over our own constitutions, when the only defenders of our lives and freedoms are none other than ourselves....

A new article addressing the numerous critical problems facing our societies currently and how we can address them.

The majority might be straying away from politics, however, only a few might be aware of its significant value and importance amongst our species. It is a game of shadows fought between figures that possess a tight grip over our actions, desires and ambitions. We may see politicians squabbling among...

Episode I of our political series about Lebanon, A Shadow of a Nation:

Lebanon is in need of change. But such changes come only by implementing new ideas and concepts that are still novel and are tailored for the qualities, traits and preferences of the current generations in place; the generation of the Information Age.

The form of governance discussed in this video is called, Allocracy. This form of governance is a consensus formed by Khalid El-Kaissi, which is set on establishing an “electronic form of governance”, that enables the engagement and supervision of all citizens within a country to be direct participants within their political system. Eventhough there is a particular political structure that enrolls the most qualified, based on characters first and merit second, the system is supervised by the populace at large and allows accessibility for all to speak up, support or reject whatever policies may come their way. Symbolic structures like parliaments would be a thing of the past and those that act as our representatives would also be limited or even obsolete, while the transparency of the system would be of paramount importance.

Allocracy’s formation would be complex, as there are many factors in play that would allow it to become effective, such as the pyramidal hierarchical structure that would be demolished, but it’s accessibility and dealings would be considered very simple, as the point is to make it easy to understand and deal with by people from all walks of life within a country’s borders.

This is one among the many novel forms of governance that may be a primary tool used to solve the myriad of problems countries, like Lebanon, currently face.
