in 2012, a demonstration by Unite Against Fascism and We Are Waltham Forest stopped the fascist English Defence League, in Walthamstow, East London.

Years of demonstrating against the EDL, from its first appearance in 2009, pushed them back from a situation where they once mobilised thousands on the streets of Britain. Walthamstow was a significant point in that process.
