We're proud that under Labour, Lewisham became the first Borough of Sanctuary in the UK – a commitment to making sure everyone rebuilding their life here is treated with dignity, welcome and belonging.

This Refugee Week, events are happening right across the borough – bringing people together and celebrating everything refugees and asylum seekers contribute to our communities.

That commitment has meant real investment in the local organisations doing brilliant work on the ground. It's wonderful to see the small grants programme delivering cultural events, community support and wellbeing activities across Lewisham.

That was Liam Shrivastava’s promise to Lewisham residents. He’s now taken a £4,832 pay rise and called a donation a pay cut.

Meet Alex Brooks for Crofton Park! As our candidate for Crofton Park at the recent local elections, he has spent the last 18 months speaking to people in the community and understanding their priorities.
With a Green Mayor of Lewisham and two Green councillors in Crofton Park already, Alex will offer an alternative Labour voice.
As an opposition councillor, he'll be a local champion for Crofton Park - always putting the area first and ready to challenge the Green-run council where needed.
