SGD Weekly Round-Up 📢📢📢

Another busy week for the SGD Fire Protection team, with projects progressing across Bristol, Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and West Kirby.

This week we have been pleased to officially welcome Anthony into his new role as Contracts Manager at SGD Fire Protection. Anthony has fitted into the team perfectly and has already made a great impression. With his experience and approach, we know he is going to be a real asset to SGD as we continue to grow and strengthen the team.

We are also incredibly proud of Sarah Morton, who has officially been promoted to the role of General Manager at SGD Fire Protection. Sarah has been an integral part of SGD’s growth and development, and her progression into the role is thoroughly deserved. As the business continues to grow, having the right people in the right roles is incredibly important, and we’re proud to continue creating opportunities for our team to progress alongside the company.

Across our live projects this week, our teams have continued delivering passive fire protection works to the high standards our clients expect, with activity taking place across several locations throughout the UK.

A very well-deserved promotion for Sarah Morton, who has officially stepped into the role of General Manager at SGD Fire Protection. 👏

Sarah has been a huge part of SGD’s journey, consistently demonstrating the hard work, loyalty and genuine care for the team that has helped shape the business as it has grown.

Having previously served as Office Manager, Sarah’s promotion reflects not only everything she has contributed so far, but the important role she will continue to play as SGD moves into its next stage of growth.

This special event will bring friends, family and the wider community together to remember Anthony, celebrate his life and continue the legacy he has left behind.
For us, supporting local initiatives is about being there for the people and organisations making a genuine difference. We’re honoured to play a small part in what promises to be a meaningful day filled with remembrance, friendship and support.

SGD Weekly Round-Up 📢📢📢

It's been another busy and productive week for the SGD team, with projects taking us across Chester, Dudley, Liverpool, Manchester, Rochdale, West Kirby and Wigan as we continue delivering high-quality Passive Fire Protection solutions for our clients across the UK.

Away from our project sites, Shaun and Georgia met with Jane and Sarah from Morecrofts this week. We're proud to work with Morecrofts and it was great to finally meet in person and spend some time getting to know the team.

We also received some fantastic news this week, with a number of award nominations for both SGD Fire Protection and our Managing Director, Shaun Davidson. Shaun has been shortlisted for two awards at the Liverpool Chamber Innovation & Impact Awards – the Rising Star Award and the Cornerstone Award. We're incredibly proud to see Shaun recognised in two categories that celebrate the people making a real impact across the Liverpool City Region business community.

The good news didn't stop there, SGD Fire Protection has also been shortlisted for Fire Safety Company of the Year at the IFSM Awards, with Shaun individually shortlisted for Fire Safety Professional of the Year. To receive recognition for both the business and the leadership behind it is something the whole SGD team is extremely proud of. We're looking forward to attending both ceremonies in October and celebrating alongside the brilliant businesses and professionals we've been shortlisted with.

For the second year running, we’re proud to support Centre 63’s School Uniform Campaign, donating £320 worth of brand-new school uniforms to help local children and families prepare for the new school year.

The cost of school uniforms can place significant pressure on household budgets, particularly alongside the many other expenses families face at this time of year. Initiatives like Centre 63’s campaign help ensure that more children can return to school feeling confident, included and ready to learn.

As a local business, we believe our responsibility extends beyond the projects we deliver. We’re committed to creating meaningful social value and supporting organisations that make a genuine difference within the communities in which we live and work.

We’re delighted to support the campaign once again and would like to recognise the fantastic work of everyone at Centre 63.

We hope our contribution will help make the start of the new school year that little bit easier for local families. 💙

At the beginning of July, Sarah Morton and Sian Monaghan attended the Working Well – Women’s Health event, hosted by Knowsley Chamber at the Best Western Premier Knowsley Suites Hotel.

The session was delivered by Sophie Hughes Fitness and Janine Lee, combining practical fitness advice with expert insights into female health and workplace wellbeing. Discussions focused on how small, sustainable lifestyle changes can improve physical and mental wellbeing, boost productivity and help create healthier, more supportive workplaces.

The event also explored important topics including stress management, increasing daily movement, menopause awareness and breaking down the stigma surrounding women’s health in the workplace, encouraging organisations to create more inclusive environments where everyone can thrive.

In support of the event, attendees were invited to donate sanitary products, which will be distributed by Merseyside Youth Association to help individuals and families across the Knowsley community.

At SGD Fire Protection, we believe investing in the wellbeing of our people is just as important as investing in their professional development. Thank you to Knowsley Chamber and everyone involved for delivering another insightful and valuable event!
