Rest in Peace Dolly 💖

She has helped millions of children around the world through her Imagination Library. We launched this in Norris Green in May this year and have already had over 60 local kids sign up.

Each child gets a book sent directly to them each month until their 5th birthday.

We don't often (if ever!) get political on this page as its about getting info out to residents to do with the Council/Councillors and people no doubt hear enough about politics.

We did however want everyone to know why we have been able to fund many of our local charities/organisations with tens of thousands of pounds more than the norm this year and that's because we have a Labour Government that has begun to fund councils properly
(after 14 years of Tories destroying council funding)

With this extra funding from a new fund called Community Renewal we have been able to provide significant grants to :

Norris Green Community Alliance
Norris Green Youth Centre
Triple C Liverpool
Clubmoor Family Hub/Childrens Centre (Which as you will have spotted in actually in Norris Green!)
Ellergreen Young People project (at Scargreen)
Friends of Norris Green Park
Jade Dance Studios in Broadway (to replace equipment after a terrible fire last year)

This is a level of funding councillors has not been able to provide for many years and we are proud to do so for these groups in our area that do such a brilliant job every day for people in Norris Green.

If you have been to Broadway today you will have seen the great work than has been done tidying up the carpark and newer shops area. Some before and after pics below.Lots of people have asked that this area to be made more presentable recently so glad we have managed to sort this. If you want to let us know of any grot spots do get in touch.

🚨 Next Community Skip Day 🚨

As promised we can confirm the date for the next community skip day will be on Thursday 24th September. We will be arranging 10 community skips between the the Kingsland Crescent and Wellesbourne school areas inc streets like Fairmead road, Sedgemoor and Inner and Outer Forums.

Exactly locations are not known yet (and are dependent on their being room for safe drop off and collections of skips) but will be confirmed the week before on here and with letters through the post so people without social media do not miss out.

Please do take advantage of this free service and have a clear out!

The last skip event was incredibly popular and the skips are removed as soon as they are full so please be quick on the day so you don't miss them!

Every part of Norris Green will have an opportunity to use a community skip over coming months.

Big thank you and well done to Kay, Andy and Dawn from Friends of the Bowley for putting on a fantastic fun day today.

It was great to be there and see activities for all ages, with free hotdogs, face painting and snack bags too!

Glad we could help fund something that was really well enjoyed.
