If you've visited Bude Canal recently, you may have noticed improvement works taking place between Rodd's Lock and Whalesborough.

More than 200 metres of canal bank, along with several other priority areas, have been repaired using an innovative solution that encourages vegetation to re-establish quickly, helping to strengthen and protect the banks naturally.

These works form part of our ongoing programme of improvements to keep the canal thriving for future generations. Alongside enhancements to the water control features at Whalesborough Weir and carefully managed vegetation maintenance, these projects help balance the canal's important roles as a haven for wildlife and a much-loved place for recreation.
