Witham Park Playground

Cairns Way, Waddington (downhill)

We loved this park when my small was little! We’d play shops or cafes for hours in the house by the slide, and have been known to bring WD40 to make the squeak go away from the swing 😂

It’s got a small assault course, one baby swing, one regular swing, a slide, and of course, ‘the spinny thing’ - the thing that spins like a roundabout but is somehow faster and more dizzying!

On-street parking on Cairns Way
No public loos nearby sadly
The skate park and field is a 5 min walk away
Redwood shop is a 10 min walk away

North Hykeham Memorial Hall Park
Spring has finally sprung and we are back exploring local parks!
This is one of those parks which doesn’t look shiny and new but it’s pretty functional. There’s a slide, swings, a roundabout, a cool rock to climb on and a funky green seesaw thing! At the time of writing in Feb 2026 there was some equipment missing / undergoing renovation.

One downside here is the road noise from Newark Road, but on the plus side, Millenium Lakes are right next to this park (on the other side of the field) for a lovely peaceful walk.

Location: 317 Newark Road, Lincoln
Park size: medium
Parking: At the village hall
Nearest facilities: Asda

Happy New Year from the Lincoln Park Lady! I hope 2026 brings you fun at Lincolnshire parks 🛝 🥳

On this New Year’s Day we’re at Fulbeck playground right before the sun sets - we love this place! The equipment is great, perfect for toddlers and older kids too. There’s a cricket / football field for running around on, and crucially, a pub across the road for a loo stop 😅

Ruston Playground, Newark Road, Lincoln

I visited this playground with friends today and remembered why I love it!

There’s a bit of everything - including a great little train, a climbing wall, the all-important swings on a tall frame, and a cute climbing frame with relatively accessible steps for toddlers. There’s a basket swing too.

But the reason I really love this park is because there’s a little field, lovely big trees and a ‘big kids’ area with a huge climbing frame with baskets, a bridge over a ditch, a rotating swing and obstacle course.

Sure, it’s right next to Newark Road so not the most peaceful, however the equipment is really great!

Park size: large
Location: Newark Road (next to Ruston Sports Club) LN6 8AU
Parking: we’ve parked at the sports club when it’s quiet - otherwise on-road on Southland Drive

St Aiden’s Park, Hykeham

This is a little hidden gem in Hykeham! We ended up here this afternoon and thought it deserved a review!

There’s lots of equipment here - 4 big swings, 2 little swings, and a basket swing.

A big slide and a little slide. The little slide is on a small climbing frame, crucially with great steps for toddlers to access the slide!

There’s a big kid roundabout swing situation, similar to the one at Collingham - great for older kids!

There’s the all-important zip line, and also a cute tractor climbing frame - I love parks with these unique climbing frames to give them some personality!

There’s a playing field and outdoor exercise equipment too.

Park size: medium
Nearest parking: limited parking on St Hilary’s Close, or a few minutes away at Hykeham train station
Nearest facilities: Asda, a 5 minute drive away
