Yesterday’s results were deeply disappointing for us. We lost many valued colleagues, dedicated councillors, and hardworking candidates who have distinguished themselves in their communities. We thank them sincerely for everything they’ve contributed over the years.

We also want to thank every volunteer, campaigner, and supporter who contributed their time, energy, and belief to our cause. We’re incredibly grateful for your commitment and passion.

We congratulate Reform UK on its victory. It now faces the challenge of running a large, complex organisation across a significant geographic area, and we wish all the newly elected councillors well.

We will now take time to listen carefully and reflect. But we remain committed to the people of Lincolnshire and will work hard, but constructively, in opposition to holding the new administration accountable, championing local priorities, and standing up for the communities we care so deeply about.

This is not the end; it’s a new chapter.

💙THANK YOU💙

I want to say a huge thank you to the 429 people who voted for me yesterday. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be this time.

It’s been an absolute honour and a privilege to stand to represent this special area of our wonderful city. I’ve enjoyed every single minute since being selected last August and will cherish the memories of this campaign for a long time.

Congratulations to Karen Lee on her re-election, and thank you to her for her work in our communities. She has been a worthy opponent, but never an enemy.

While this election wasn’t my time, I’m still committed to working to improve life for everyone in the north of the city, so do drop me an email on [email protected], whether you voted for me or not, if there’s a problem in your neighbourhood you think I could help with.

And now, to bed!

🗳️TODAY IS POLLING DAY🗳️

After a long campaign, thousands of leaflets and lots of great conversations with local people, this is the day when our area chooses who will be our champion at County Hall.

It would be the greatest honour to be chosen to work on your behalf; to fight the flytippers and work towards more regular and lower cost bulky waste collections, to fight for essential road and pavement improvements on our large roads and small streets, and to fight against the graffiti blighting our communities.

But what have the Conservatives on Lincolnshire County Council ever done for you? Well…

💡10,000 streetlights fixed a year

🛣️100,000 potholes filled last year

🚸£100 million invested in SEND schools

💷The 2nd lowest county council tax in England

🚨£1 million invested in fighting antisocial behaviour

🚌91% bus service satisfaction rate

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒Children’s Services rated Outstanding by Ofsted

Elections in our area are always closely fought. In 2017, the seat was won by less than 20 votes. In 2021, it was won by 2. Your vote could be the one that makes all the difference in the direction Lincolnshire takes.

Now isn’t the time for a wrecking ball. Back me and our local team to protect everything that makes our communities and this county great.

🗳️YOUR VOTE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE🗳️

In today’s political climate, it’s understandable if you feel like your voice and your vote can’t make much of a difference. In our area, however, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

At the last county elections in 2021, Labour won here by just 2 votes, after several recounts. I was involved in that campaign and came across scores of people who did not want a Labour victory but thought it would be safe to not vote or to vote for a smaller party as a protest.

We’ve seen what happens with Labour in power, locally and nationally; flytipping out of control, bus fares hiked, our leisure centres in limbo, Winter Fuel Allowance axed…the list goes on.

Don’t let your protest vote turn into an endorsement for their chaos.

🏡A busy week reporting repairs and maintenance on behalf of local residents, including the graffiti on the Stapleford Avenue sign and the damaged Minster Yard sign. I’ll keep everyone updated on any work planned for these.

🐣Hope everyone has a happy and restful Easter Sunday!

🚧EDLINGTON CLOSE BOLLARDS🚧

Local residents recently made me aware that the wooden bollards at the top of Edlington Close have been uprooted.

Following my report to Lincolnshire County Council about this, I was pleased to receive confirmation today that the Highways Team have inspected the site and work to restore the bollards will go ahead soon. I’ll keep you updated with any progress.

Incredibly concerning to hear an illegal travellers camp has appeared on the sports pitches at Bishop Grosseteste University.

Thankfully there hasn’t been any reports of further disorder, but I encourage the police to act swiftly to clear the site so that staff and students can return to campus safely.

“No more borrowing” may sound like common sense, but what it actually means is no North Hykeham relief road, no school upgrades worth £100 million, no Disabled Facility Grants and no new equipment for our fire fighters. That's the reality of what Reform is offering.

This is not the time for a wrecking ball. Back me and the Lincolnshire Conservatives team to protect the things that make our county great.

🚮LINCOLN 10K LEFTOVER RUBBISH🚮

I’ve been made aware by local residents that bags of rubbish from last weekend’s Lincoln 10k have been left in some of the streets on the route.

People in the north of the city are very
generous and understanding when it comes to the inconvenience caused to their travel plans by the 10k, so it’s disappointing that this generosity has not been fully repaid.

Sad to hear the old Ermine United Reform Church is likely to be demolished very soon. I’m sure it’s been the site of happy memories for many people across its 70 year history.

I had hoped that upon purchasing the building several years ago, the City of Lincoln Council might have attempted to do something positive with it. Unfortunately, it’s now fallen into dangerous disrepair and has become a hotspot for flytipping, which I’m working to try and combat with local residents.

In the weeks ahead, the City Council must keep the immediate neighbourhoods informed of any disruption the demolition will cause. Following that, the entire community must be involved in deciding what happens to the site next.

A church the council said is "putting the local community at risk" could be demolished within weeks
