Could you Help?

The stunning Naval Service Memorial (NSM) at the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) remains one of the most striking and popular exhibits.

The on-site ground staff team work hard to maintain the memorial on our behalf, but they have now advised us that some repairs are necessary, and a degree of ongoing maintenance to the memorial is required.

Some of the wonderful panels which you can see in the pictures are now suffering from water ingress damage.

We are looking to repair the damaged panels and supply a ‘seal’ to all of the panes of glass. The seal was not available in 2014 when the Memorial panels were assembled. All new memorials now arrive already sealed.

Once the repairs are completed, we shall continue to work closely with the NMA to ensure that a comprehensive maintenance programme is in place in perpetuity.

Working with the glaziers and the NMA, we have been advised that a total of £75,000 is needed to repair and maintain the memorial for years to come.

Please contribute where you can, to enable us to repair and maintain the Memorial for all future visitors to enjoy, ensuring its longevity.

We are still buzzing after our first quiz night of the year in aid of Turn to Starboard. A massive thank you to The Doctor Johnson Public House for their generosity in giving a great prize and for helping us make the night a success. We raised a total of £283.50 which will go towards helping veterans in need. Thank you to all that took part!!

The 3rd of September is a day to fly the Red Ensign and remember those who serve in our Merchant Fleet. During WW1 and WW2 tens of thousands of Merchant sailors lost their lives keeping our Country supplied with food, fuel, equipment. We Will Remember Them.

Come along and be a part of history this Saturday (5th sept) - watch the Historic Sheriff’s ride leave Lichfield Guildhall at 9.30am and then return having checked the boundaries at 4.30pm Cathedral close - horse hooves on the cobbles and a little pomp and ceremony 🐎🐎
