Great work. Youth engagement was always going to be key in tackling ASB long term

🟢 POSITIVE PATHWAYS – MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN LEIGH 🟢

The latest data from our Positive Pathways project shows some really encouraging signs.

📉 From around 6 ASB reports every evening to just 6 incidents across an entire week.

⭐ One monitored week saw 0 reported ASB incidents in Leigh Town Centre.

Through outreach, sports, mentoring, safe spaces and positive activities, we are engaging over 30 young people every week and helping turn congregation into connection.

We're proud of the progress made so far, but we also know the work is far from finished. There is still much to do, and we remain committed to supporting young people, reducing anti-social behaviour and helping create a safer, stronger Leigh for everyone.

Riddle me this

Starmer has announced a ban on all social media for U16s.

Yet he wants to lower the voting age to 16.

So how will these young people be able to make up their own minds and gather information from the widest variety of sources when a significant portion of the web will now be closed to them?

Yes I understand some of the harm that can arise from online bullies and trolls, which is why I advocate for significant penalties either financial, custodial or both.

However we cannot brainwash our children to the main stream media. We need a society of strong, independent thinkers willing to come to their own conclusions.

This is what helped make Britain great.

3 years ago, some streets on the Higher Folds estate flooded.

I was on the frontlines helping residents where I could.

As a result of meetings after the fact, issues were identified, action was taken and I believe the streets here haven't flooded since.

Today I can finally confirm that our indoor market traders, my stall included will be relocated into the Spinning Gate Shopping Centre in January 2027.

This is on a temporary basis while the planned refurbishment works are completed.

That is estimated to take between 6 to 9 months.

As the email mentions, police and PCSOs cant be everywhere all the time, so please make sure you and your children are safe.
