From tiny tots taking their first music lessons to retirees embracing a new challenge, Pianista Music Studio in Hinckley has become one of the first businesses in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to be recognised as a Mental Health Friendly Business.

The studio is part of a growing network of organisations that support mental wellbeing by creating welcoming spaces where people can build connections, gain confidence and feel comfortable talking about how they’re feeling. Learning new skills, staying active and connecting with others are all part of the Five Ways to Wellbeing, helping people live happier and healthier lives

Did you know the Pantry Nook in South Wigston accepts the Healthy Start payment card?

With the Healthy Start card you will be able to top up your weekly/monthly shop and buy more healthy foods for you and your family. You can use your card in most places that sell milk, infant formula, fruit and vegetables. 🍎🍼🥕

“There were no challenges using the card it was just learning about it and seeing if the card would work? For me I can use it on the membership fee of £5 which actually allows me to get £25 worth of food! I receive £4.25 each week for Healthy Start so I just have to add 75p!” - (Pantry Nook Volunteer and Member with a 22 month old child)

Summer is a time for making memories, celebrating and spending time with friends and family☀️

For many of us, that can sometimes mean drinking more alcohol than usual or making different choices around substances. If you've found yourself overindulging, you're not alone – and there's no judgement.

Every day is a new opportunity to make small, positive changes that support your health and wellbeing. Whether that's having a few alcohol-free days each week, cutting back, seeking advice or simply taking a moment to reflect on what feels right for you, even small steps can make a big difference.
If you're thinking about making a change, support is available. Turning Point Leicestershire & Rutland offers confidential, personalised support for anyone affected by substance or alcohol use, helping people find the right treatment and support for your individual circumstances.

💙 Remember: asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

The NHS National Booking System is now open for eligible people to book their flu vaccination for the 2026/27 winter season.

Flu vaccination helps protect those most at risk and reduces pressure on health and care services during the colder months.
