Looking for something to do with your baby this ? We have a range of regularly activities which are free to pop along to. With books, toys, instruments, puppets, bubbles and more, we love helping grow bookworms and supporting their development.

Why not come to one of our Wriggly Readers sessions, our stories and rhymes session for 0-5 year olds.

Or Wigston Library have their fantastic 'Tiny Toes', a safe and welcoming space for 0-2 year olds.

Children may be back at school, the holiday feeling over for many, but the Summer Reading Challenge 2026 continues in Leicestershire Libraries for 1 more week. You have until 12 September to finish the challenge, so pop along to your local library today and join us as we Read to the Beat!

Help lead one of our in person Shared Reading groups, bringing people together through stories, poems and conversation.

Lead one of our online Shared Reading groups from the comfort of your own home, connecting with members from across the UK and beyond.

💛 Volunteer Leader
Join our steering group and help shape the future of Leicestershire Shared Reading, bringing your skills, ideas and enthusiasm to the charity.

There are lots of ways to get involved, whether you'd like to lead a group or play a more active role in helping us develop the charity.

Back in 2024, as part of the Wigston Library Multi-Sensory SEND Project, our working group came up with the idea of an accessibility film designed to offer a short, welcoming tour of Wigston library. Its purpose: to help reduce barriers that individuals may face when visiting our libraries for the first time.
Fast forward to 2026 and we now have the Wigston library film PLUS 14 more films in our showcase! Co-created with a fantastic group of adult learners from GoLearn Leicestershire, check out our welcome guide to Shepshed library here.

Our last shout out goes to Jade. Football, fan, language lover, art enthusiast. Jade loves using colour and movement to express ideas that words sometimes can’t.

It's arrived! ✨🩰

The Black British Ballet exhibition, 'Into the Light: Pioneers of Black British Ballet', is available to explore at Melton Mowbray Library from 3-30 September.

Come along and explore the history and untold stories of black dancers in British ballet. With panels and videos showcasing stories, this touring exhibition brings together archive photography, film, newspaper articles, audio and more, trace the history of Black British ballet from the 1940s to the present day.
