Charnwood Conservative Association Officers and Members, together with MP Edward Argar, now Paymaster General & Minister for the Cabinet – were extremely sad to learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty dedicated her life to serving our proud nation and our people. As our longest reigning monarch, her presence has been a comfort and source of strength and inspiration to us all.

This was shown more recently when the Queen addressed our nation during the Covid-19 pandemic. She addressed us with words of encouragement, providing everyone with the strength and resilience to get through an extremely tough period. This signified the importance the Queen held in all our lives – she epitomised strength for the people in this United Kingdom.

The Queen assembled our nation as one, alongside our Commonwealth Nations and the rest of the world. We shall all come together to mourn Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Although it is extremely saddening to have lost our Queen, we shall commemorate her great legacy which she has left behind.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal family. Rest in peace your Majesty.

God save the King.

A successful and Positive Day for Conservatives nationally and Charnwood Locally

Just back from Loughborough based Charnwood Count.

We contested all 6 Charnwood Seats - and again returned all 6 County Councillors as Conservative.
Leon Hadji-Nikolaou and Daniel Grimley are the newly elected County Councillors representing Rothley/Moutsorrel and Birstall respectively.
Existing County Councillors Deborah Taylor, Tom Barkley, Brenda Seaton and James Poland were all re-elected for their respective seats of Bradgate, Syston Ridgeway, Thurmaston Ridgemere and Syston Fosse.
Our Charnwood seats in Blaby & Hinckley & Bosworth - were also returned as existing CC Lee Breckon and new CC Nick Chapman to represent the two seats of Glenfield, Kirby Muxloe and Leicester Forest with Thurlaston. Ozzy O'Shea was elected again for Groby & Ratby - with a massive 2039 majority and 75.4% of vote.
Our sincere congratulations to all our County Councillors as they start their new 4 year term.
Grateful thanks also to their agents and many supporters who have campaigned and delivered leaflets to secure this impressive Conservative representation.
Similar results across the Country have seen a great day for our Conservative Party

Tomorrow vital elections are being held for Leicestershire County Council and the Leicestershire & Rutland Police & Crime Commissioner.

Please lend your support to our local candidates who all have a proven track record of serving our community.

03/05/2021

Over the weekend our MP Edward Argar spent time in Syston with Cllr Tom Barkley.

Tom is standing for re-election this week, and a vote for Tom is a vote for Syston Ridgeway.

02/05/2021

Daniel Grimley is an experienced local councillor and is standing for election to Leicestershire county council next week.

Vote for Daniel if you want a strong local voice for Birstall.

Hear why Charnwood’s MP Edward Argar is backing him.
