🌺 Our new badge bed at Peace Memorial Park, Wigston, in tribute to the 300 Polish Squadron.

In 1946 a Lancaster bomber crashed just off Long Street, tragically killing the six-man Polish air crew who were on a routine flight. Thanks to the heroic actions of the crew the crash narrowly missed Long Street Modern School, and there were no deaths on the ground in Wigston.

🇬🇧 On Monday 22 June we will be raising the Armed Forces Day flag, marking the start of Armed Forces Week.

🇬🇧 Veterans, serving personnel and members of the public are invited to join us outside our Brocks Hill Council Offices, Oadby, from 10.30am for the short ceremony, which will begin at 10.45am.
