Warwickshire Special Constabulary

Warwickshire Special Constabulary Special Constables are volunteers from all walks of life who are fully warranted police officers, trained and equipped.

This page is not monitored 24 hours per day, so please do not use it to report incidents or information - dial 101 instead or in an emergency 999.

But why? It’s a question often asked of those who choose to volunteer their time in policing for free.

What motivates someone to give up evenings, weekends and time with family to support their community in such a demanding role?

For Special Inspector Neil, the answer comes to life in day in our latest day in the life video where he gives a behind-the-scenes look at what it really means to serve as a volunteer officer - balancing everyday life with supporting colleagues and the public when it matters most.

You will have likely seen in the news last night that the UK terrorist threat level has been raised to SEVERE – meaning an attack is highly likely.

For you, the public, this means remaining alert but not alarmed. Within Warwickshire, we will continue to work, day and night, to keep you safe.

Our officers will continue to be out and about in our communities, please come and talk to one of them if you have concerns.

If you see anything that doesn’t feel right report via gov.uk/ACT.

In an emergency always call 999.

If you’ve been a victim of online scams, identity theft, or any type of fraud, you should report it at reportfraud.police.uk. Report Fraud has replaced Action Fraud as the national service for reporting cyber crime and fraud.

This new service makes reporting quicker and easier, and ensures your information goes straight to the right team for investigation. Find out what types of fraud you can report and how the process works via their website.

A bit late for the festive season– but parts of our county are looking a bit like something from a Christmas card today.

Most of our cars are out and about, but we scouted HQ to find a couple that haven’t been woken up just yet.

We’re seeing an increase in collisions this morning so we’re going to do the obvious and remind you all to take extra care out and about.

The gritters are out and about but please be aware that the roads are worse than they look at the moment.

Slow down and give yourself plenty of time to react. Above all, keep warm and safe.
