June is Men’s Mental Health Month 💬🧠
This month highlights the importance of men’s mental health- supporting all men at every stage of life.
At our 0–19 Public Health Integrated Nursing Service, we recognise how important it is for men of all ages to feel able to talk about their wellbeing. Many boys and men can find it harder to express their feelings or ask for help, which is why early support and positive role modelling are essential.
💙 Encourage open conversations with sons, partners, and children
💙 Take time to check in on your own mental wellbeing
💙 Show children that it’s okay to talk about feelings
💙 Reach out- support is available for you and your family
Let’s work together to break the stigma and support better mental health for everyone.
Its okay to not feel okay, and to reach out for support when you need it, there is always someone you can talk to:

👶Baby communication week 2026👶

✨This year's theme is about 'seeing the baby' - what does this mean...

🧐Recognising their communication - can you spot your babies cues?
🫂Empathising with their world - Try understand how your baby feels, things may look and feel different to them!
⭐Honour their individuality - All babies are different! They are their own little person with likes and dislikes, how can we best meet their needs?

❤️To understand more about your baby or toddler, check our the infant mental health team's page with lots of information about meeting your infant's needs🔗: https://leedscommunityhealthcare.nhs.uk/our-services-a-z/infant-mental-health/

The kitchen is often the hub of our homes, but it can also be the place that has the most hazards for our children.
This week the child accident prevention trust (CAPT) are helping to raise awareness of any potential risks; to help make home safety more simple to follow so that accidents at home can be prevented where possible.

If you have any blind cords or cables at home, it is important to check that they are safely wrapped away.
It can take just 15 seconds for a young child to lose consciousness if they get tangled in a blind cord. And sadly they can die in just a few minutes.

Make your blind cord safe, secure it on a cleat hook or use a tensioner (safety devices that should come with all new blinds).

A good Oral Health routine is so important for looking after children's teeth.

>>Start brushing your baby’s teeth as soon as the first tooth appears.
>>Brush twice a day (last thing at night is most important)
>>Use children’s fluoride toothpaste
>>Smear for under 3s, pea‑sized for ages 3–6
>>Spit out – don’t rinse
>>Parents and carers should help and supervise children brushing until at least age 7 years

Child Safety Week 2026 runs from Monday 1st to Sunday 7th June. Organised by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT), this year's theme is "Making prevention possible". The campaign focuses on empowering parents and carers with practical, simple changes to prevent serious accidents in common areas like the home, roads, and online.
