We would like to say a huge well done to all of our Year 6 children for working so hard during the build-up to the SATs and during SATs week. All of the children have displayed excellent learning attitudes towards the SAT papers they have completed this week and should feel proud of themselves! Year 6 were treated to a well-earned ice lolly this afternoon. Well done Year 6!

Today Year 5 children were out on the playground and the roads around school undertaking cycle training with Bikeability.
After practising on the playground, the cyclists went out on the roads, using their newly acquired skills, including to be alert to danger and how to signal with one arm while keeping control of their bikes. They all enjoyed being outside in the gorgeous sunshine! Well done to everyone.

On Friday some of our children together with Miss Swallow and Miss Johnson attended the Sing Spectacular at Headingley Stadium! The children enjoyed singing "Golden" and "Marching on Together" with a lot of other Leeds school children before being able to watch the match between Leeds Rhinos and Catalans Dragons.

Year 6 councillors from YWJS's Harmony, Food Ambassadors and Sports groups attended the annual Leeds Youth Summit at the Civic Hall this week, where they were able to give their views on the area in which they live! #
They were an enthusiastic group who posed some fabulous ideas to the council representatives in attendance. A fantastic day was enjoyed by everyone.

On Tuesday 10th February 2025 it was Safer internet Day across the country. This was a chance for all schools to focus on online safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
The theme this year was:
'Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI'
On Monday 9th February Mrs Clarkson delivered an assembly to YWJS children about how to stay safe online and introduced the children to exploring the safe and responsible use of Al.

On Tuesday 10th February all children took part in a number of activities to explore the use of AI. They were given different scenarios and asked if they thought this was okay or not okay. They then used role play to act out what they would do if they felt someone was misusing AI and who to go to for help.

Our Year 3 children have been enjoying yoga in PE this term! 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️ They have been practising a fantastic range of poses that develop their flexibility, strength and balance, showing great focus and determination.
As well as building their physical skills, the children have loved learning how yoga can support our mental wellbeing. They have explored breathing techniques and relaxation strategies to help them feel calm, centred and ready to learn.
We are so proud of the positive attitudes and enthusiasm they have shown during our yoga sessions – well done, Year 3! 🌟
