With the sun out it’s the perfect time to do some Duke of Edinburgh's Award training. Last weekend one of our cadets and staff joined 1254 (Godalming) Squadron Air Cadets and 11F Brooklands Sqn - Royal Air Force Air Cadets to learn the practical skills for a DofE expedition.
Navigating around the Surrey Hills to hone their map reading, they followed a route back to the campsite, where they then pitched their tents and cooked their dinners.
The cadets had an enjoyable evening playing uno before camping out.

Last week 2 of our cadets had the opportunity to take their first Air Experience Flight (AEF).
They got fly near Stone Henge and admire the views, as well as trying some aerobatics, both got to take control of the aircraft under guidance of their pilot.

Once back on the ground, they couldn’t wipe the smiles from their faces.

Last weekend 2 of our NCOs were taking part in their Bronze DofE expedition across the Surrey Hills. Joining cadets from 11F Brooklands Sqn - Royal Air Force Air Cadets and 219 Sutton & Cheam Squadron ATC, they spent their exped looking at historical sites across the North Downs. Upon finishing their route on the second day, they presented their finds to their assessor.
A great weekend demonstrating some of the skills they have picked up in cadets; team work, communication and navigation.
Well done to all who took part!
