The Conservative Government is investing £396,000 of additional funding this year to fix potholes and make repairs to Kingston’s roads. The funding is part of the £420m spending for road repairs announced in October’s budget by the Chancellor, Philip Hammond. It will be built on the additional £1.5m of investment in Kingston’s roads by the previous Conservative Council Administration.

Aphra Brandreth Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Kingston and Surbiton said “Listening and speaking to local residents and businesses, they’ve said that keeping the roads in good shape is a priority and the Conservatives have listened and acted. This money will build on the extra £1.5m of road investments already made in Kingston by the previous Conservative Council Administration.”

Today, on the one hundredth anniversary of the end of the First World War, we remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. Over 2,100 people from Kingston upon Thames died in the First World War. We remember them, and those who followed them in the Second World War and in conflicts since.

“The living owe it to those who no longer can speak to tell their story for them.”
