St George’s Day - A Popular Occasion!

It was great to see so many participants in the St George’s Day Parade in bright sunshine on Sunday, 26th April.

Hundreds of Scouts and Guides marched from New Road to Aggborough Stadium, where they filled the best part of the Main Stand. In the presence of Civic Dignitaries, and Lead Volunteers, we enjoyed a service comprising: prayer, song, recital of the Guiding and various Scout section prayers, a short panto of the story of St George & The Dragon and ending with the National Anthem.

The Parade then circled back to the town centre and leaders & civic dignitaries took the salute from the Town Hall steps.

Mayor Marks the First Year of Renewables Business in Kidderminster 🌱🎉

On Friday, 17th April, the Mayor of Kidderminster, Cllr Doug Hine, took a short walk around the corner to Worcester Street to visit MB Solar and celebrate the first anniversary of their showroom in the town.

Cllr Hine congratulated managing director Matt Breakwell on growing a local business in the emerging renewables sector. "This business, and business like it, bring money and employment to the town, they use local contractors for installations and provide after sales servicing and support to ensure that consumers (domestic and commercial) save on their energy bills."

Matt Breakwell said: "The showroom has been surprisingly successful, despite being near a quiet corner of Worcester Street. Customers may initially make contact by phone or email, but many take the opportunity to walk in so they can have a relaxing chat about their energy needs."
