A team of ECFRS volunteers supported prevention staff, local police and local authority representatives to promote fire safety today. They attended the Chalvedon area in Basildon and spoke with local residents, provided safety advice and took referrals for home visits / smoke alarm fitting. A fantastic effort by everyone involved.😊😊

A big thanks to our volunteers for supporting an ECFRS exercise this week at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow. The exercise was based around ECFRS's response to chemical exposure. Our volunteers supported the multi agency day by playing the role of casualties. Well done to everyone involved.😊

A big thankyou to all of our volunteers who supported the sheltered accommodation targeted intervention scheme over February and March. Thirteen volunteers joined crews and prevention staff to promote fire safety and reduce fire risk among vulnerable residents. Between them they gave over 150 volunteering hours.
This really was a fantastic effort by our brilliant team of ECFRS volunteers. Great work!!

Our volunteers supported the Hamelin Trust this week with their Christmas tree collection scheme. The idea was that members of the public make a donation to the Hamelin trust for their trees to be collected. More than two hundred trees were picked up over a couple of days. The Hamelin Trust support people with autism and learning disabilities. They really are a fantastic organisation.

Today our fantastic volunteers have been photographing items from the collection and uploading them onto eHive, our online database. This helps us preserve and share Essex’s firefighting history for everyone to explore. Great work team!

🚒 Community Fire Safety in Action

A huge thank you to our fantastic volunteers who supported the recent Day of Action in Craylands alongside Basildon Borough Council and local partners.

Our team engaged with residents to provide vital fire safety advice and demonstrate the importance of working smoke alarms. Across the day, 145 households were spoken to and offered support, making the community safer and more resilient.

👏 Well done to everyone involved for helping us keep Essex safe!
