A huge thank you to Anna, Anna, Paul, Carol, Anna-Marie and Jess, who are running this year’s Great North Run in support of Veterans for Veterans in Care.

🏃‍♂️ The Great North Run Care Home Challenge 2026 is here!

This September, care home residents are being invited to work together to complete 13.1 miles to help Veterans for Veterans in Care (VFVIC) www.vfvic.co.uk support our “Forgotten Army” of Armed Forces Veterans in Care Homes.

From 7–13 September, every step, corridor lap, garden walk and mile completed using a hand cycle will count towards each care home’s total.

Our challenge will:

✅ Encourage residents to stay active

✅ Bring care home communities together

✅ Recognise veterans living in care

✅ Raise vital funds for Veterans for Veterans in Care

Every pound raised will help us locate, support and reconnect members of our "Forgotten Army" with the wider Armed Forces community.
