Event this Thursday 11 June at 2.30pm
Every June since 2008, people from across the UK have celebrated Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month (GRTHM). This year the theme is ‘Onwards with Hope’ - focusing on the aspirations and future of Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Showmen and Liveaboard Boater communities.
To promote Gypsy, Roma and Traveller culture locally, we are delivering workshops suitable for pre-school and primary age children:
Amersham Library - Tuesday 16 June at 4:00pm
Chalfont St Peter Community Library - Tuesday 23 June at 2:00pm
Iver Heath Community Library - Thursday 11 June at 2:30pm
Princes Risborough Library - Wednesday 24 June at 10:30am
Through celebration, education and raising awareness, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month helps to tackle prejudice, change the story, and amplify the voices of Gypsies, Roma and Travellers in wider society.
