Have Your Say on Walking and Cycling Improvements in Hounslow 🚶🏻‍♀️🚲

Transport for London (TfL) is seeking feedback on proposals to extend Cycleway 9 between Syon Park and Hounslow Town Centre, with plans aimed at making the route safer and more accessible for people walking, cycling and using public transport.

The proposals include:
✅ New segregated cycle tracks
✅ Improved pedestrian crossings
✅ Safer side road crossings
✅ Wider footways
✅ Opportunities for additional planting and trees

🚲 Hounslow Council's popular Learn to Ride sessions are back this October half-term!

Looking for a fun and active activity for your child during the school holidays? Join us on 29 and 30 October 2026 for our free children's cycle training sessions, designed to help young riders develop their cycling skills and confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

Whether your child has never ridden a bike before and wants to learn from scratch (Learn to Ride), or can already ride and wants to improve their cycling skills and confidence (Level 1 cycle training), we have a session to suit them.

📍 Locations: Inwood Park and Hanworth Park
📅 Dates: 29 & 30 October 2026

Who can attend? Children aged 5-11 (Reception to Year 6) who live or study in Hounslow.

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so book early to avoid disappointment.

🚲 Free Dr Bike Sessions This September!

Autumn is arriving, and it's the perfect time to make sure your bike is safe, roadworthy and ready for your journeys.

Bring your bike along to one of our free Dr Bike sessions taking place across Hounslow this September. Our experienced cycle mechanics will carry out a basic safety check, provide maintenance advice, and complete minor repairs and adjustments where possible. No pre-booking required, just turn up and queue.

➡Please note:

-Dr Bike is available for standard pedal bicycles only. We are unable to carry out repairs, checks or adjustments on e-bikes or electric scooters.
-Dr Bike sessions are limited to minor repairs and safety adjustments only. For major repairs, cyclists may be advised to visit a local bike shop.
-Sessions may be cancelled in adverse weather conditions. Any updates will be shared on our social media channels.

Have you always wanted to learn to ride a bike, build your confidence, or improve your cycling skills? Our free adult cycle training sessions are here to help!

Whether you are a complete beginner or already know how to ride and want to gain confidence cycling on roads, our qualified instructors will support you at your own pace.

✅ Open to anyone who lives, works or studies in Hounslow

✅ Attend as many sessions as you like

No bike? No problem! Bikes and helmets are available to borrow free of charge at all of our cycle hubs.

Simply arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to secure a place and complete a short registration form with the instructor.

If you are unsure whether to join a beginner or improver session, our instructors can assess your ability and recommend the most suitable group.

Summer is in full swing, so give your bike a free health check and make sure it is ready for all your journeys this season! Bring your bike along to one of our free Dr Bike sessions taking place across the borough this August.

Our friendly cycle mechanics will inspect key components including brakes, gears, tyres, chains and saddles. They can carry out minor repairs and adjustments on the spot and let you know if any further work is needed.

Have a bike that requires minor repairs? Our usual Dr. Bike at Hounslow High Street (outside Trinity Church) is taking place from 1300 to 1600 on Saturday, August 1.

We're going to have 1 mechanic instead of the usual 2 mechanics so please make sure you arrive on time and queue up to have your bike looked at.
