We are heading to Eastcote House Gardens for this week's !

Tucked away in the gardens stands one of Hillingdon’s most charming historical features, the Dovecote. Likely from the 17th century, the brick building housed pigeons, an important source of food and manure. It symbolised the status of landowners, as only certain classes could maintain dovecotes. The building was restored in the early 2000s after falling into disrepair.

Today, the Dovecote remains a reminder of the area’s rural past, and is open regularly. It is next open on 6 June, for the Friends of Eastcote House Gardens' Summer Fete and Picnic. Next time you visit, take a moment to spot this unique piece of local heritage and don’t miss out on the opportunity to step inside.
