Firstly, we would like to say 213 thank yous to those who voted Liberal Democrat on Thursday.

We would like to thank Tom for standing and although the result did not go our way this time, we are certain he will be back standing up for West Heywood again.
Thank you to the outgoing councillor Angela Brown.
Congratulations to the incoming Stuart Crawford.

A message from Tom
"I am proud of the campaign run by all candidates. It was clean and did not turn personal. I am extremely proud of the campaign we ran. We focussed on local issues, things that a local councillor has the ability to change and deal with. I made a promise to those I spoke to on the door, that I would be back fighting for you, being your voice, win or lose. I fully intend to keep that promise."

RESULT – West Heywood

Stuart Crawford (REF) – 1,474 - elected
Angela Brown (LAB) – 921
Ethan Towers (GRN) – 215
Tom Shaw (LIBDEM) – 213
Adele Allison Anstee (CONS) – 151

🔶️VOTE FOR THE COMMON SENSE ALTERNATIVE IN WEST HEYWOOD🔶️

Today people in West Heywood are faced with a choice. Vote for another Labour Councillor telling us what the council will do to our area, divisive alternatives, or the common sense alternative of Tom Shaw - a positive community campaigner and local resident who will be a fearless in speaking up for West Heywood at the Town Hall.

Tom Shaw is the only candidate who has been consistently holding Labour to account.

Vote Tom Shaw on today.

Inconsistent messages from Labour.

Over the last year, Tom has been proposing new solutions to help bring Heywoods fly-tipping epidemic under control. Tom suggested skip days in rotating areas around Heywood for a trial period.
However, this was disregarded and ignored by the Labour-run Township Committee and Labour leaders at Rochdale Town Hall.

Imagine our surprise when Labour’s candidate in East Middleton advertised this as one of their campaign pledges, backed by Labour councillors.

I have to ask, do our Labour councillors still stand by their rejection of this idea (and therefore misleading voters in Middleton), or are they, for some reason, treating Heywood differently?
Whether you live in Heywood, Middleton or Rochdale the services should be exactly the same.
I once again call on Labour to work with us to implement this scheme, which would benefit local people in Heywood and make our community cleaner.

🔶️ NO DRS, NO DEVELOPMENT🔶️

Liberal Democrats are clear: new housing must go hand in hand with new GPs. We will ensure that no community is left overwhelmed.

GP surgeries are now serving 30% more homes than they were just a decade ago - and yet developers are still being allowed to build without the infrastructure communities need.
