Hensall Playgroup welcomes under 5's and their grown ups for a morning of playing, singing and snack!! 9.30-11.30am every Monday (term time only) £2 for an adult and child, 50p for any additional children x

I'd love to tell you about a special event I'm running at Naturewood Forest Club this Tuesday!! Amelia from Little Play Dreamers will be joining us in the woods at Barlow Common Nature Reserve for some fairytale imaginative play...we're sure the little ones will love it! 💜

The 2 hour event includes forest club fun, imaginative play with Amelia and a take home gift. It's open to children aged 0-5 years old. If you'd like to book, or to find out more information, follow the link below:

WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE!!!

As some of you may be aware, last year Hensall Methodist Chapel decided to no longer hold religious services. We were warned that at some point a decision would be made regarding the future of the Chapel. Unfortunately the time has now come and the conversations have started 😕

Groups such as Playgroup, Yoga, Dance, Singing for Pleasure and the monthly Coffee Morning continue to use the space and the hall is always available for hire. It's an important community asset and we'd be gutted to see it disappear.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Come to Playgroup: Tell your friends about us and come along to prove to the 'big guys' that we're worth fighting for!

Email to show your support: Could you share a few words about what the Chapel means to you? It doesn't have to be much, but every extra comment will help our case. Please send your words to our Parish Councillor Angie McKenna at [email protected]

IMPORTANT:

Sorry folks but there will be NO PLAYGROUP tomorrow (Monday 9th). I'm not feeling 100% and I don't want to pass it onto anyone. See you again on the 16th! ☺️

We also need to think about the future of our Playgroup. We've lost a lot of volunteers over the past couple of years and it's now becoming more challenging to comfortably run Playgroup. There are lots of cogs that work together to make our little group run efficiently - buying snack and resources, banking, setting up/packing away, prepping snack, washing dishes and singing - to do this we rely solely on volunteers. We desperately need more volunteers so, if you can help, please drop us a message.

We have a new contract with the new owners of the Chapel and it's important that we can demonstrate to them that it's worthwhile having a Playgroup. We have weeks where we have low attendance, or sometimes we're missing attendance fees because people haven't given us the correct money. Sometimes we don't even make enough to cover rent and snack 😢 We don't mind if people forget their pennies, and would never turn anyone away for forgetting. But please do the right thing and write 'IOU', or ask for our BACS details so you can cover your fees. We would always prefer cash on the door though.

Playgroup has been at Hensall for EVER and it would be a shame to see it struggle, or stop completely. But for it to work, we really need some more support 💛

Dinosaur theme was in full swing this morning, thanks so much for coming along...we hope you had a roarsome time! 🦖 We counted dinosaurs, coloured in the dinosaur colouring sheets and played with the new train set and the tuff trays. We were busy little dinos!!

Remember that next week is our Christmas trip so playgroup won't be running. If you haven't had a chance to pop your name down/pay then please drop us a message and we'll get you added on

We'll be back as normal the week after, for Snow and Ice week...we'll also be getting ready for Christmas with some festive crafts!! ❄️ Xx

If you're looking for something outdoorsy to do with your little ones then head on over to Naturewood Forest Club!! Sessions run every Tuesday and Friday from 9.30-11.30am at Barlow Common Nature Reserve. We welcome children aged from 0-5 years of age. Sessions for older children will pop up every so often too!

The sessions are run by Lucy (a trained Forest School leader) who also helps out at playgroup on Monday. Feel free to ask any questions! X
