Ward Councillor Brian Patterson and I enjoyed our surgery at Home Ground this morning, an incredible community asset created and funded by the hard work of councillors from Tring Rural Parish Council for local residents to enjoy.
It was wonderful to see how well the trees and hedges planted by Long Marston & Puttenham WI and supported by the Dacorum Borough Council Green Grant are thriving, alongside fantastically refurbished iron benches by Malcolm and generous donations of chairs, tables and umbrellas from local residents.
It's now popular with cyclists, walkers and community groups, Home Ground has become a real hub for the village. The walls are beautifully decorated with original artwork from students at GDS Artschool next door.
Cheerfully and professionaly run by Dottie About Cake with local volunteers, itโs a really delicious place for lunch, tea, coffee and cake, with plenty of space for mums to meet up with children for a play in this half term.
A big call out for DIY volunteers... if you have skills such as painting, plumbing, electrical work or general maintenance and would like to help support keep this valued community cafe in tip top condition, I know TRPC would be delighted to hear from you.
Brian and I had an interesting time discussing local issues affecting residents in Tring Rural and Tring West such as speeding, fly tipping, fallen trees, collapsed foot bridges and pot holes. The easiest way to report a defect is to follow the link below. A case number will be raised and then please do contact either one of us, if it needs following up.

Weโll be holding more Coffee and Councillor meet-ups in July, September and November, so please keep an eye out for dates and venues and we look forward to meeting you. However, don't hesitate to contact either Brian or I in the meantime if you have any issues you need help in resolving in Tring Rural and Tring West.
