Not every man affected by domestic abuse knows where to turn.

Some are living with controlling behaviour, intimidation, emotional abuse or isolation. Others may recognise harmful behaviours in themselves and want support to make positive changes.

The Empower Project exists to help men take that first step, whether that means seeking support, building healthier relationships, or creating lasting change.

No judgement. No assumptions. Just support, accountability and the opportunity to move forward.

Sometimes the hardest step is talking to someone.

Many people affected by domestic abuse spend months, or even years, carrying everything on their own. They may feel isolated, ashamed, confused or unsure whether what they’re experiencing is abuse at all.

The Empower Project provides support for people affected by domestic abuse, and for those who recognise their own harmful behaviour and want to make positive changes.

Support. Accountability. Change.

Most people would see a group of friends enjoying the football.

What they might not see is the person sitting quietly, distracted, worried, or feeling the need to check their phone every few minutes.

Abuse isn’t always physical.

Sometimes it’s constant messages, monitoring, pressure, criticism, or feeling anxious about how someone will react.

You can be surrounded by people and still feel completely alone.

If this sounds familiar, support is available.

Home should feel like somewhere you can switch off.

Somewhere you can relax, be yourself and feel safe.

If you find yourself feeling relieved when someone isn’t home, it may be a sign that something isn’t right.

Abuse isn’t always physical. It can be criticism, intimidation, controlling behaviour, constant tension, or feeling like you’re always walking on eggshells.

No one should feel anxious about someone coming through the front door.

If this sounds familiar, support is available.

Many men experiencing abuse don't live in isolation.

They go to work.
They meet friends.
They attend family gatherings.

Yet they can still feel completely alone.

Fear of not being believed, embarrassment, shame, or simply not knowing where to turn can stop people reaching out for support.

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone and support is available.

Sometimes the hardest part is recognising that something affected you.

Many people minimise controlling, intimidating or hurtful behaviour. They laugh it off, make excuses, or convince themselves it wasn’t a big deal.

But being hurt is enough reason to take it seriously.

You don’t have to justify your feelings to anyone.

Support is here when you’re ready.

Domestic abuse isn’t always physical.

Sometimes it’s being questioned about what you buy.

Sometimes it’s feeling anxious about checking your bank account.

Sometimes it’s having to explain everyday purchases that shouldn’t need explaining.

Financial control is a form of abuse. It can affect confidence, independence, and wellbeing long before anyone else notices.

If this feels familiar, support is available.
