Hartlepool Pride 2026 is just around the corner and WE NEED YOU to help bring the celebrations to life! Applications are now open to volunteer as part of this year's event on Saturday 13th June. Whether you’re returning or thinking of joining our volunteer team for the first time, we’re so grateful you want to contribute.

We have some facts about our local museums for International Museum Day as we celebrate Hartlepool’s museums and rich history. 🏛️

⚓ Museum of Hartlepool: The largest ‘object’ in this museum is the PS Wingfield Castle, a paddle steamer built in Hartlepool in 1934.
🪖 Heugh Battery Museum: This museum preserves the only First World War battlefield in the UK. It is committed to preserving unique history by hosting guided tours, school visits, special events, displays and even a café (Poppy Tea Rooms)
🚢 Royal Navy Museum of Hartlepool: The centrepiece of the museum is the HMS Trincomalee and is the oldest warship still afloat in Europe (second oldest in the world). It was launched in 1817 and became out of service in 1986
📚 Random fun museum fact: Sir William Gray House was the first museum and art gallery in Hartlepool back in 1920. It is now the local and family history centre as part of the community hubs.
