🌹 Labour is delivering real help with the cost of living from April 🌹

At a time when so many families are still feeling the pressure, it is good to see practical support that makes a real difference. πŸ™Œ

Here is some of the cost of living help available from April under the current Labour administration:

⚑ Energy bill support β€” households are set to save on bills, alongside the Β£150 Warm Home Discount for eligible customers.

πŸ’· A pay boost for workers β€” the National Living Wage and Minimum Wage are rising by 4%, putting more money in people’s pockets.

πŸš† Rail fare freeze β€”regulated rail fares across England and parts of Wales are frozen for 2026.

πŸ’Š Prescription charges capped β€” prescription costs in England will stay under Β£10 for 2026.

πŸ‘΅ State Pension increase β€” the State Pension is rising by 4.8% from April.

πŸ‘Ά More free childcare β€” eligible working parents can access up to 30 hours of funded childcare.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Universal Credit change β€” families will receive support for all children, regardless of family size.

πŸ₯£ Free breakfast clubs β€” support for families and a better start to the school day for children.

This is what Labour government should do: help working people, support families, and ease the pressure on household budgets.

βœ… More support
βœ… More fairness
βœ… More help for families

🌹 Labour is on the side of working people.

From April, real cost of living support is coming to Harrow from the Labour Government.

There’s more to do - but these are practical steps that will make a real difference for local families.

🚨 Harrow residents were promised one thing, and got the exact opposite. 🚨

Before the last election, the Conservatives pledged not to raise council tax. That promise helped them win control of Harrow Council by just a few hundred votes.

Since then, council tax has gone up every year by the maximum amount, a rise of around 21.5% over four years. That is around Β£500 extra on average for every household in Harrow. πŸ’·

And in one of their final acts before this election, the Conservatives pushed through another 4.9% increase.

But that is not all. Under the Conservatives, Harrow Council borrowing has increased by Β£70 million a burden local people will be paying for years to come. πŸ“ˆ

Harrow families are paying more, while still seeing waste and poor service. That is not good enough.

❌ Broken promises
❌ Higher bills
❌ More borrowing
❌ Poorer services

Harrow deserves better.

πŸ—³οΈ On 7 May, vote Labour so we can sort this mess out.
🌹 Vote Mike Williams in West Harrow.
🌹 Vote Labour for honesty, responsibility, and better services for Harrow.

It was great to have Dawn Butler MP and Gareth Thomas MP join us on the doorstep in Harrow-on-the-Hill yesterday. We spoke to residents who raised concerns about the Conservative's 20% hike in Council tax and the increase in fly-tipping and ASB across the borough.

Don't forget, a Labour-run Harrow Council will:

❄️ Freeze Council tax in 2027
🚨 Create a dedicated ASB Squad to tackle disorder and fly-tipping
πŸš— Protect 1h free parking across the borough and the Freedom Pass to save you money
