Yesterday, the Calderdale Council Cabinet held its first meeting with Council Directors, where we outlined and discussed our key priorities and pledges for our borough.
We pledged to keep you informed, so here are some of the key areas already being addressed:
💷 A full review of council spending is now underway
🚧 Planned roadworks are being reassessed - do they provide significant enough benefit to justify the disruption to businesses and road users
🅿️ Parking charges across the borough are under review
🕳️ Tackling potholes remains a priority, with work beginning on a practical and effective plan
🏬 Economic regeneration is a major focus — we want our towns to thrive for the benefit of residents and local businesses alike.
📣One clear commitment from your Reform UK Council is that contrary to Labour's plans for a maximum council tax rise next year, we will be keeping any rise as low as possible. 📣
We understand people are eager to see change quickly — and so are we. However, delivering meaningful improvements will require a shift in culture and a different way of working.
Under the leadership of Cllr Dan Sutherland and his Cabinet, business is already being conducted differently, and we firmly believe this approach will benefit Calderdale as a whole.
