We were delighted to be joined at a recent training session by the Mayor of Sandwich.

The Mayor was happy to present a cheque to the club for £3474 as a grant from the Sandwich Town Council Georgina Maddox Trust Fund which will be used to support our growth and helping us to develop players both young and not so young! Unfortunately the Mayor left his boots at home so we were unable to put him through his paces - but the offer of a trial is always there!

Georgina Maddox was a long-term resident and volunteer in Sandwich who left a generous legacy to Sandwich Town Council to be used for the benefit of community organisations, groups, and other good causes in Sandwich.

This grant will enable us to purchase a number of items of training equipment as well as a top quality Veo 3 AI Camera which will be used to stream an array of Sandwich Town Football Club games for the coming seasons on YouTube.

Our sponsors can also be featured in our streams and social media content.

Counterfeit Notes

Please be aware that convincing fake Scottish £50 notes are being tendered by fraudsters in licensed premises in Kent … if in doubt refuse to accept the £50 notes & do NOT provide the fraudsters any change.
Where possible seek to retain the counterfeit currency, record details of any vehicles persons passing the fake notes are seen to be using including registration plates, preserve any CCTV footage of those tendering the notes & contact Kent Police.

Residents and visitors of our town are warmly invited to a special three-day pop-up exhibition showcasing portraits of Sandwich’s mayors from the Sandwich Guildhall Museum collection.

This exclusive display offers a rare chance to see a selection of remarkable mayoral portraits dating from the 18th century to the present day. Oil paintings, pastel and charcoal works, and photographs come together to reveal how Sandwich’s civic leaders have changed over time, while also highlighting the evolving styles of portraiture across more than 250 years.

The exhibition has been organised in support of Terry Palmer’s celebratory talk on the history of Sandwich’s mayors, taking place at 7pm on 2 June in the Delph Room at Sandwich Guildhall, as part of the town’s 800 Years of the Mayor of Sandwich celebrations.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to view these fascinating archival portraits and explore an important part of Sandwich’s civic heritage!
